That being said, you can get them on ebay for about $50. People use them a year (or semester) and sell them.

Just grabbed an ancient TI-81 (the OG graphing calculator from TI, despite later models with lower numbers) at a nearby resale shop for $1.50 - Saturday was half-off. That was a banner day as I also grabbed a copy of LEGO Batman for the PS2 for half-off at $2.70 and it's played well thus far. Though impractical for many buyers, the secondary market remains the best option for most graphing calculator shoppers given the market power that has kept the retail price of these calculators fixed over time. Even at $95 it's hard to call the Python edition a deal, but more an accepted cost of taking math courses when shopping at retail prices.
