18", mini LED, 4090 for under $2000? This looks like an amazing deal especially with the warranty.

I got this deal end of Feb 2025

beast of a machine, beautiful display, HEAVY

, installed Crucial 128GB Kit (2X64GB) DDR5 RAM 5600MHz.

I'm able to get up to 70 tokens per second on 8-12B LLMs

I'm able to get up to 160 fps in Starfield in Ultra settings

The processor has not been an issue for me so far

How is the build quality of the device? Can you tell us which parts are made of metal and which of plastic? So you have any concerns about the hinges? Was your laptop in like-new condition when you received it? Thanks!

I have this exact model. Blows any game I throw at it, out the water. I set everything to max and it's smooth as butter! Get a top of the line cooling pad and you good to go. The 1000 nit screen is so amazingly bright, I had to turn it down as it hurts my eyes. Colors are awesome. 7 months of ownership and I play it everyday. Love the 2 year warranty!

hhmm..I don't pay much attention to build quality. But now that you ask, the lid is very sturdy. No bend when opening up the lid from the body

overall, the entire machine feels very sturdy

I have ZERO concerns about the hinge. I'm not feeling/seeing anything that would indicate a future failure

Laptop arrived looking brand new

Just a heads-up. This laptop comes with a 2 year Square Trade warranty. The factory warranty on a new Acer laptop is only 1 year.

A few months ago I bought a "certified refurbished" Nitro 17 laptop directly from Acer on eBay. It looked and worked like new and came with a 2 year Square Trade warranty.

This seems like a great deal! If I hadn't jumped on that Omen 5080 deal this would be the one. Call me crazy but I'd prefer this 18 mini led over the 16 OLED.

acer certified refurb are gold quality, condition, battery health is 95%-100%.

the nitro series is quality 50/50 plastic case, good hinges

the pred series is more alloy 75/25 . not as good as legion series and omen series, but pred is a better price and value

if you keep lid open, vents clean, with extra cooling fans it lasts a lifetime

the only common acer issue is they ship alot of bad AC adapters, so ask for $50-75 refund

asus g series has more alloy, but there parts and drivers have more issues

I been buying Acer and Dell latitude for 20 years. They age better than Asus, Lenovo, HP
