You'll want a hard shell based knee pads. These would start fraying with any bit of abrasion.

As ridiculous as it sounds I'm actually considering getting a pair of these to play on the ground with my kids. Hardwood floors are a killer!

Remember people would recommend knee pads like these for those obstacle course runs like tough mudder. Might be good to wear under your pants if you do one of those jobs where you occasionally have to get on your knees. Kinda like grocery store workers who wear a knee pads while working

These would actually work for that use case. I use Mizuno knee pads for volleyball and these would work if you find yourself on your knees often.
