These must be Old School shoes.
I recall when I was a kid, the good shoes were called leather uppers and the cheap one were synthetic.
Nowadays, all shoes are synthetic.
I have 3 pairs of Sambas (performance models in REAL leather... not the OG casual) and 1 pair of Predator Freestyle indoor soccer shoe. I really wear them for their performance and not casual wear. Legit soccer shoes are low to the ground so you have great ground feel. Comfortable cushion isn't a priority like with legit casual sneakers.
I prefer my Sambas because I am more into retro style and also the Predator side profile is actually lower than the Samba so it shows more of my white sock. I have the white Predator with the red stripes so my white socks better be looking new and very white. With black predator or my black leather sambas, people can get away with old black socks.
