Great on Kindle

Groundbreaking and comprehensive, Driven to Distraction has been a lifeline to the approximately eighteen million Americans who are thought to have ADHD. Now the bestselling book is revised and updated with current medical information for a new generation searching for answers.

Through vivid stories and case histories of patients—both adults and children—Hallowell and Ratey explore the varied forms ADHD takes, from hyperactivity to daydreaming. They dispel common myths, offer helpful coping tools, and give a thorough accounting of all treatment options as well as tips for dealing with a diagnosed child, partner, or family member. But most importantly, they focus on the positives that can come with this "disorder"—including high energy, intuitiveness, creativity, and enthusiasm.

If you have ADHD, can you focus on reading a book about ADHD?

If you ask a book store employee where the self-hep books are, is it REALLY a self-help book?

These are the questions I need answers to

It's like RAAIN, on your wedding day, or a free ride when you already paid....

ok, I'll let myself out.

I read the book and I have ADHD. The author has ADHD and wrote a book. He also has a medical degree.

Your comments are ignorant and stigmatize ADHD. You could benefit from reading the book.

And rain on your wedding day is an inconvenience. Most of Alanis Morrisette's song is not ironic but inconvenience.

Honestly I suspect I have ADD in some form and haven't been able to finish a book in over a decade. Still graduated first in the business school but yeah, my first thought was wow this sounds like a great book if only I could get myself to actually read it.

Going to pick it up and hope to read it eventually, like the dozens of others I have grabbed, thanks OP!

edit: nevermind the google play deal is dead.

You might have ADHD but you definitely can't recognize an obvious (lame) joke. My wife has ADHD and I'm well aware of its symptoms. Yes, I'm well aware Alanis's song, Ironic, was indeed not ironic. Lighten up and not think the worst of people.

I laughed at your "ironic" comment. Tried to read this book years ago and couldn't finish it, my psychiatrist at the time told me it had become his "litmus test" to see if a client may have adhd (because they usually wouldn't be able to finish it). Was curious to see if anyone could comment on the "updates" since it was first published in 1994. Hopefully it's not still based on hyperactive white males.
