It'll be more than enough for Lightroom, I have a model a few generations old and it absolutely moves through it

Awesome specs, but why does Lenovo keep excluding a thunderbolt port on their 5i laptops? Seems as if all other manufacturers in this price range of laptops, include thunderbolt or USB 4 for AMD processors.

Sorry to hijack your post, but a variant is available at Costco for people who don't have Microcenter in the area like me.
https://www.costco.com/lenovo-leg...80973.html

Compared to the OP's, the Costco one is
  • IPS, not OLED
  • 16" as opposed to 15.1"
  • 5060 as opposed to 5070 (both are 8GB)
  • Thunderbolt 4; Microcenter one doesn't mention about TB
  • Different processor - Costco's Ultra 9 seems to score higher, but I'm new to CPU comparisons
    https://www.cpubenchmark.net/comp...i9-14900HX
  • Costco has additional 1 year extended warranty
I myself is waiting for a Ryzen variant, but these are hard to come by.

This is horrible compared to the legion for the same price.

Nice. The Wi-Fi issues the one review worries me. Plus IDK if the Intel variant will be better in terms of thermals and battery life.

Wifi is one of the most commonly upgradable components, and you are correct in that it will have worse thermals and battery life. I get pretty poor battery life out of my model but it's older and less efficient as well. But I'm also generally never away from wall power for more than 3 hours, so it's really not a deal breaker for me. Most of my portable devices I take the tradeoff of having more power available when plugged in at the cost of battery life - like the Lenovo Legion Go I'm using right now.

Depends what you value. 16" vs 15", and the Costco one has a MUCH better processor both in terms of performance and probably better battery life since the 14900 was ROUGH. I actually have tested this 15.1" in the OP, battery life was sub 4 hours just browsing the internet.

Great laptop otherwise though.

The OLED and the 5070 are far more important than the CPU.

Battery life may be important to others. 4 hours is mediocre at best, but after a year or two it becomes sub 2.5 hours and actively bad.

And personally I would rather have a high quality IPS screen without burn in risks that OLED has.

OLED is vastly superior to IPS. The burn-in "risks" are greatly exaggerated

So what I'm hearing is that battery life is not great on this specific model?
