It's almost as good as the base M4 but it's got tons of memory and storage.

This performance is even inferior to m4.

He's implying that it's inferior but almost as good. The plus side is its bigger memory and storage. Learn to read my friend

This shouldn't be sold for a cent over 600$ and $700 for the 16inch model! regardless of memory or storage capacity! MacOS26 is gonna ruin the performance of m1 so much oh god!! Just wait until the public release of macOS 26 and watch comprehensive update videos and then decide cuz these laptops are gonna drop in price soo bad real soon! That's why people are trying to get rid of them before the price crash

Yeah i know it's crazy! Unfortunately a lot of people think m1 gen macs are the best which is kinda true when compared to intel macs but man m4 macbook air is so damn powerful! I think it's misinformed people fall for that it's funny cuz you could get a brand new m4 air with 16gb ram and 256 for $750 on sale and with cash back offer even as low as 700 so i honestly do not understand why the used airs are going for that price with the terrible screen! Trust me this update is needed to set the used macs with m chips on track where we can see how good m4 can shine and how much bad m1 and m2 will be (it's a design choice by apple) cuz the sales of new macs have been high but they looked at used macs data and want them to buy new directly from them! Planned obsolescence

How exactly is MacOS 26 going to "ruin" M1 performance? Any evidence you can share?

Unfortunately I can't dive into the specifics but the choices made by the design team was based on being resource intensive to clog and burn older macs and to make it feel like "the user must feel like they need to upgrade the hardware" i hope im wrong but there's strong inclination towards this! So if anyone planning to buy used macs especially m1 based just hold off until 2-3 stable releases of macOS 26 and then based on the feedback from public reviews then buy is what im saying!
