Great specs on a slick machine, but look up some of the reviews on the customer service before purchasing. Aside from it being mostly nonexistent, whoever does reply to their emails is an unprofessional dickhead and it's honestly kind of humorous as long as you aren't one of the people stuck with one of their machines that you can't fix.

Holy cow. I bought from them back in 2011 and I'd checked in from time to time to see if they were still around since they were competing with mostly a few other brands like SAGER who were also using Clevo laptops.
Back then, I had a good experience with MALIBAL support, as I did actually have an issue with a notably slow HDD and they sent out a replacement. Sad to see the responses from whoever is replying nowadays.

The things I've found on the internet about this company are absolutely insane. This company appears to be legitimately dangerous - there is a non-zero chance that you may completely lose your money.

What have you read about this company and who should we buy a laptop from? And how is it possible to lose your money if you use a credit card and can file a chargeback?

Whoa, no wonder the name seemed to ring a bell. I bought a Clevo laptop so I did my research with the various brands that were slapping their own label on a Clevo machine back in the day. I do remember Malibal and at least back during that period, people seemed to be happy with their purchase.

Oof, those recent reviews are scathing. How on earth are they able to stay in business like this? Verbally abusing customers isn't the best way to earn business.

OK, first - I realize you're the OP. I need you to understand that nobody is attacking you, so please don't take it that way. At first glance, this does seem like an attractive deal!

To answer your questions:
1) The very first post on this thread from BrightOstrich239 links to a great Reddit discussion, but that is just the tip of the iceberg. All you have to do is search the web for MALIBAL. It isn't pretty. Here are some YouTube videos that, in pretty damning fashion, explain the issue. Could you find a positive hardware review on MALIBAL? Probably, but that doesn't seem to be what the primary problem is here.

https://youtu.be/uv8froTzQn4?si=y_4DcV1-hCvVSIec

2) Who should you buy a laptop from? That's up to you - that's kind of like asking who to buy a TV from...? If you're specifically looking for a custom notebook, somewhere in the ballpark of what MALIBAL seemingly tries to be, a company called Sager Notebook Computers (www.sagernotebook.com) has a fantastic reputation.
3) OK, sure, you can rely on a chargeback if necessary. You'll probably have less overall trouble by simply buying from a genuinely reputable manufacturer.

" I ordered a laptop from Malibal, they never shipped it. I asked for a refund and they cancelled my order and blocked me, but didn't refund me.

They're just common thieves, don't make the mistake of giving them any money."

Thanks, I'll check out those videos, but from clicking on them none of them seem to be from their customers? That seems extremely odd, no? Is this the Sager company you are talking about? https://www.resellerratings.com/store/Sager They have a 2.5 star rating and lots of terrible reviews.

"refusing warranty coverage..."
"They've lost a customer for life"
"Worst computer I have owned in my entire life."
"Never ever buy a sager laptop."
"My experience with Sager has been absolutely horrific."

Do you have anyone else to recommend buying a laptop from that's better than this one?

You're the second person in this thread who mentioned stealing money. Did that person pay with cash? If not, how does a company steal your money if you use a credit card and have chargeback protection? Has anyone here ever used a credit card to buy something and lost money? If so, how? I really want to know how it's possible, because it's not. Even if a company is criminal and they TRY to steal your money, they CAN'T do it if you use a credit card or Paypal or some other payment service with buyer protection. So why have multiple people warned others about having their money stolen?

Valid point. Use a credit card and request chargeback if you don't receive order within promised time. Don't wait though as there's no more CFPB.

I never received a reply to my question. Looking through your history you said you own and recommend ASUS and Lenovo. Why would you ever recommend those companies? They have some of the worst reviews I've ever seen. Just a simple search on Reddit reveals that. See links below. How do you pick and choose which companies you tell people to avoid, because in your 7-year history on SD this is the first time you have done it. But why this company when you recommend companies with even worse reviews?

ASUS is the worst: https://www.reddit.com/search/?q=worst+asus
"Asus gaming laptops... The worst purchase of my life"
"ASUS Support is the worst in the world!!!!!!"
"Asus Zenbook has HORRIBLE quality"
"Done with ASUS. Products are not reliable, and service is terrible."
"Asus hates its customers"

Lenovo is the Worst: https://www.reddit.com/search/?q=lenovo+worst
"LENOVO HAS THE WORST CUSMER SUPPORT EVER!!!!"
"lenovo is terrible? do i sue?"
"Lenovo is the worst"
"Terrible Experience with Lenovo"
"Lenovo just gave me the worst customer experience of my life."

What scathing reviews are you referring to exactly? The only two customer reviews I found on YT are positive and I found hundreds of more positive reviews. This person linked to a Reddit post where the person said they had a bad email exchange. This is the scathing review that makes you wonder how they are still in business? What company did you buy a laptop from? In one of your recent comments you congratulated someone on getting an HP OMEN MAX. Why did you congratulate them instead of telling them to run for the hills considering HP has some of the worst reviews anyone has ever seen? All you have to do is search on Reddit. See below.

HP is the worst: https://www.reddit.com/search/?q=hp+worst
"HP Omen is the worst laptop ever made"
"Do not buy HP Omen Laptops"
"Do NOT buy HP laptops.."
"Worst Computer I ever had."
"HP OMEN Nightmare – Worst Customer Support Experience of My Life"
