Good deal but seems that the "true" normal price is $15, not the inflated $25

That being said, been wanting a cheap fishing rod for dock fishing so buying one

Not for panfish and/or other smaller fish species. Also a bit easier to keep in a vehicle "just in case," especially if you don't particularly like collapsible poles.

I see your point for catfish, larger bass, carp, etc. But that's not what a freshwater "dock" pole would be for.

This is an awesome setup to throw in your car and just have there to fish at a whim. Caught many nice bass on this same one.

Can you detect light taps on this alright when fishing soft plastics? I typically like to feel the action before buying, but this is a good deal.

Spend more and get a zebco if you want a better open reel and rod combo that lasts. I have had mine for over ten years multiple kids use and it's been solid for beginners.

Useful for a little kid, but if they know how to cast an open face they probably already have a normal sized pole. I'd rather a regular length ultralight rod for dock fishing for panfish overall.

Perfect for kids, and even adults. These poles are great when you don't want a huge pole. Extra easy to transport and store in a small space in a truck or on a boat. The kids love them, and I even have one I use and a few spares for when the fish are biting for anyone who is around. Small fish, it catches just as good as any other pole believe it or not. Occasionally I'll catch a bigger fish and wish I had a longer pole in that moment, but this one still brings them in.

I've caught more fish with my dock demon than any of my other rods. The fish can't see what rod you're using... I've seen guys fishing with a broom stick and a line, and still catch fish.

Considering I land very large fish with a 24" ice fishing rod, one of these would be great for kids or someone who fishing off a dock or out a boat.
