We've gotten fake Cerave Retinol from Woot in the past (the retinol was the wrong texture, heavily fragranced, and broke my partner out). Check all your products when you get them in. Not say this isn't slick, just check what you get. Woot did refund the fake product.

Edit: just to clarify, we had ordered 4 of the retinol product and only 1 of the 4 was fake.

Great deal. I did the 3.99 neitrogena makeup remover towels instead of the mask since I'd actually use those vs a sample packet but even without the extra item this is a killer deal.

Just a general question. How do you know if facial products like CeraVe and Cetaphil are fake when bought online?

I always bought Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser off Amazon but then I read some products are fake even if it shows bought and shipped from Amazon.com. Is that true or false? I know other sellers sell the same product on Amazon but does Amazon ever mix the inventory of where the person takes the Cetaphil cleanser from?

Because of this, I recently started buying facial products off Walmart or target online because that seems safer. Thoughts on that? Or is Amazon always safe for that? Like how do you know if it isn't a customer return back to Amazon on a product like say that has no seal like a face cream or Neutrogena sunscreen? Then again, if someone returns a product back to Walmart or target online, would the same apply?

My understanding is that anymore Amazon.com shipped and sold by are authentic, they no longer mix inventory. As for Woot, I'm not sure if all their product is just close to expiry Amazon.com stock, or if they buy from multiple sources like they did long ago.
You can usually spot fakes through slightly off packaging (words misspelt, boxes don't look right, etc) or if the product itself is inconsistent with how it normally is. In our case, it was fragranced and slightly more oily than what we knew the product was like, almost more like a cheap lotion.
