Bought one in 2016 (doesnt have the dual layer that helps with heavy winds like in OP). Have traveled internationally with it a couple of times. Still works great except the velcro strap is barely functional now.

Bought one in 2018, I think it's worked pretty well. If I had to complain about something, it would be the handle could considered not the most comfortable/ergonomic, especially if you're holding onto it tight in high winds. That's not to say it's terrible though, lol

"Pretty well"? you've had it for 7 years lol. I could only dream about having a low cost umbrella for that long. Are you sure this is the same brand? Did you have to replace it over the years or is it the original one?

I've had mine for about 3 years so not quite that long but it still looks pretty much like new and the auto open/close mechanism also still works flawlessly. I do agree about the handle, I feel they could improve it by making it a bit longer, but otherwise highly recommend this!

Per Repel's website regarding its lifetime warranty: "Please note that this warranty is not valid unless the item is purchased directly from Repel Umbrella® and registered under our warranty."

So Amazon purchased Repel umbrellas are not under manufacturer warranty. Having said that, the Amazon seller Upper Echelon Products LLC warranties these umbrellas for life, and a couple of reviews mentioned getting replacements from the seller by messaging the seller through Amazon. I believe the seller is a Repel distributor; you can get replacement from the seller and the seller can get replacement from Repel.
