32oz carafe compared to 40oz from the other deal (the other deal is the KBTS model)

the other model is glass carafe while this is double stainless (thermal), so this stays hotter longer on its own, but does NOT have a hot plate, so the heat thing caries depending on situation. also with thermal: can't tell how much coffee is left and is (arguably) more difficult to clean, but less fragile

this model also has "manual adjust stop" which is defined as follows:

"The manual-adjust stop allows you to control the brewing speed or stop it entirely as it flows into the carafe. This brewer is a good option for those who like to be more hands-on with their coffee brewing process and don't consistently brew a full carafe every day."

I have the glass one. Very very easy to clean, basically a good rinse but if you anal about it, can definitely wash the inside with dish soap.

No auto stop for the glass version might not be good for one person. For the two of us, a full pot is just enough with around less than a cup of coffee left over to drink later.

Probably the most over rated coffee maker out there.

Best coffee maker out there. With a great heating element and replacement parts a plenty.

It's a hand built, 5 year fully warranted, and repairable coffee maker. That alone makes it worth the money, and it also makes phenomenal coffee.

I personally chose the 40oz for it's glass carafe. I don't like the stainless ionic taste. It took me years before I could convince myself it was worth the money. I should not have waited. It's the fastest coffee makers I've seen and pour over quality from a machine.

Respect your opinion but I couldn't disagree more. One of an extremely few household coffee makers that brew at a high enough temperature to extract the full flavor from the coffee bean (ideal temperature is @203 - 205. Most coffee makers use plastic tubing and heat the brew water to less than 192… The Technivorm uses brass tubing. The difference in the flavor of [quality] coffee beans is night and day. At this price, it's a steal. I bought mine about 12-years ago at almost $400. Still some of the best money I've spent.

You don't want a hot plate, it scorches the oils in the coffee. Thermal carafe is the way to go.

I came here to say vacuum insulated carafes are the way to go. I've had a Zojirushi maker with one for ~8 years now and would never go back to glass + hot plate. They tend to burn coffee and make it taste like crap, not to mention the power they waste to keep it hot. The insulated carafe I have will keep coffee hot for 8+ hours, easily.

If my Zojirushi showed any sign of stopping, I'd be seriously considering this deal. I do appreciate having a timer though.

I have a Black + Decker 12-Cup Coffee Maker that I purchased for $9.99.
I am about to get this, what should I expect?
I am currently using Copper Moon Strong Dark Roast Whole Bean Coffee and a Krups Fast Touch Coffee Grinder.

Alright fark it, I'm in. I have a pour over that I like well enough, but the coffee is cold after like 10 mins and I'm never sure about the consistency of the brew. Will try this at least to compare.

Also annoying to have to stand there blah blah blah
