Electronic gauges are much more accurate and reliable. They are less prone to degradation, meaning regular use will not wear on the components. They only real downsides are that they're more expensive and need batteries. Sure, they can fail, but they don't fail any more often than the mechanical gauges.
I've been using this one for a couple years now and it's been fantastic. I bought it because my Bourdon Tube Gauge on my compressor failed, and those stick gauges aren't as reliable. Try it: I bet you'll never go back!

Purchased at $7, so at this price I highly recommend them.
