They are loud but I love it especially for cast. I don't know much about these type of fans but it puts out a fair amount of power for the size. I have full air conditioning in the house I run it at night on the patio to keep mosquitoes away from my legs. It is a whirring sound. I probably will buy another one. Honestly I thought they would be worthless I'm surprised I sometimes will put it on my Kleenex box and let it hit my face. It's loud but it's a decent trade-off in my opinion. My wife hates fans And she will run at night.

That's one of the tradeoffs with these turbo fans. They will get relatively loud in quiet environments (theatre, library, etc), but you can always run them at a lower setting. I should have waited.. bought the smaller battery blue last night. I use these a lot at home. I several kinds for certain places.. I like venting the shower with the old eFluky but they are probably ten years old!

ooh.. edit. I don't have this model.. I already have other brand with lanyard that is much quieter.
