The alligator eats the bigger number, so it's <$1 per bar. Yes, these are good. They have maltitol in them, which has a glycemic index half that of sugar (useful info for pre-diabetics) and can cause more gastro-intestinal issues than other bars if overeaten. But Pure Protein is the mainstay protein bar that just about everyone eats. I've never had any troubles with it, and the macros are great.

My favorite flavors ranked from the 5 listed are:

Chocolate Peanut Caramel - chewy, soft caramel with peanut bits and chocolate on the outside
Chocolate Deluxe - rich, dark chocolate flavor with fudgy consistency
Galactic Brownie - also fudgy and rich chocolate
Cookies and Cream - more crunchy than chewy, tastes somewhat like Oreo cookie with white chocolate outside
Chocolate Mint Cookie - it does an OK job tasting like Thin Mints Girl Scout Cookies, just not a fan of mint-flavored protein

They taste like a standard protein bar. Complete with the "cement mixer" layer. That said, the macros are decent. ~20g protein for ~200kCal is hard to beat. They are not overly sweet and I found I prefer the regular chocolate peanut butter.

Galactic Brownie is one of my favorites at 180kcals and 20grm protein with milk protein isolate and the first listed. It is "fudgy" like and the least cardboard like.

Variety Pack from Sam's comes out to 1.04 each where I'm from at the regular everyday price.
This is technically okay, but not an amazing deal by any means. It is harder to find the select flavors by themselves at this price though it seems.

Costco has a variety pack of these.
I bought it a few months back when they had $4 off. I'm not certain of the daily price but should be around the price of this "deal".

I definitely agree with the "cement mixer" sentiment lol, nicely put. But my take is that they're overly sweet compared to, for example, the Clif Builder bars.
