If I am using cooler for long-term cooling, I bring it inside the house (if it's warm out) and open it up for a day or two to get the latent heat out. Then I charge it with ice for a day to get it cold.
Everything going inside gets pre-chilled, if I can make it happen. Food I plan to eat in 3-4 days is pre-frozen and in vacuum bags so it won't be affected by cold water.
Dry ice is amazing if you can find a place that sells it. Put a block in the corner, wrapped in a paper bag, and it will keep the regular ice frozen for quite a long time. Ice blocks are also better than cubes. You can go ghetto and freeze water in some old milk jugs if you can't find a place selling block ice. Load your stuff and top the cooler with ice. Any place for warm air is going to encourage melting. If I have some strong paper bags, I'll put them over the ice and use a bit of space up top for delicate things like snacks and sandwiches that will get eaten right away. The paper bag will insulate the ice when the cooler gets opened.
Also, don't drain the cold water unless you need to tidy up. 34 degree water is awesome for keeping things cold. If you drain the water, it will be replaced with air which heats up much faster.

Correct, it is injection molded, but is likely to perform about 90% as well as those for less than 25% of the price. Plus this is made in America if that is worth anything to you.

I've never owned a yeti so I can't compare, but this is by far the best cooler I've ever bought and vastly outperforms any regular cooler I've ever had. Plus I was very satisfied with my purchase and I paid $120 for it, may have been a 72QT version though.

Rubber latches are better than the plastic ones that break on every igloo I own
The ones I checked out in Costco under $100 were thin.

Igloo is replacing Overland with the Trailmate line but functionally they appear to be the same aside from a newer design for the rubber latch. In either case the Latitude series is IMO a tier down in performance. A 70qt Latitude is 13lbs while a 50qt Overland/Trailmate is 15lbs. Weight isn't everything but that differential likely reflects the thicker wall insulation on the smaller capacity cooler.
I'd consider this as a smaller option for party drinks and weekends if I wasn't moving to have a smaller option, considering the Lifetime 55qt is $100 at WM. This would be fantastic for party drinks or a couple people camping for 2-3 days.
