This isn't the new model. The Onn 4K Plus is the new one for $30, which has a faster chipset but doesn't have ethernet, a USB 3.0 port, or a Google Assistant speaker built in that this one has. The packaging is new though.

I purchased one to replace my Fire stick 4k max. I'm in the process of replacing all my fire sticks now. Much better performance and ability to customize. Amazon stopped supporting my dated Recast and is no longer allowing owners to side load or install non-approved apps. Performance of the Onn 4k Plus has been great. Be sure to consider installing Projectivy launcher.

I bought at the $40 deal.. It is the go to recommendation I give to any one I get asked the question. The $30 box is the best overall deal going, But I really like wired ethernet and a real usb port. It comes with a cavoite. The new $30 device has a USB C port, and with that you can add what you feel you need. If it were not for the recast device I use for locals (soon to be orphaned), I would use the ONN boxes in my house exclusively.

The Recast is worth it if scamerzon give it a better chance IMHO..

I just grabbed a few of the ONN 4K Plus models for $30.00 to replace some Google TVs because the remotes are shot. So far so good and the Onn remotes definitely feel more robust. I do miss having the volume buttons on the side.
