Reviews don't look good on this one. I guess if it dies you still have 2 batteries and a hedge trimmer.

F Craftsman, bought one of their electric mowers and other yard equipment a couple years ago, attempted to purchase new batteries this spring and it turns out they have completely changed their battery type and the older batteries are no longer available. I'd be wary of them doing the same again.

The V20 battery line has been available from craftsman for more than 6 years. What kind of batteries did yours come with 2 years ago? FWIW the craftsman V20 batteries are the same as the Stanley V20 batteries, so these are prolific and not likely going anywhere for a while

I've had a similar model of Craftsman mower for 4 or 5 years. I can do about 6000sqft on a charge if the grass isn't long, which is usually good enough for me. Anything bigger and you'll want another set of batteries.

I have the self-propelled version. It fails to get most of the grass into the small bag (yes I have checked the blade) and is underpowered for a small-ish yard. Self-propel is sluggish and pushing is difficult. Actually looking to unload it.

Maybe push is better.

I, too, had a v60 mower which was great until they abandoned the platform and left us all with broken batteries and no replacements. Fooled me twice. Craftsman is not what it was.

I had the same one, it used the V60 series battery which they just stopped making. I've been nursing mine for 8 years

Yep, hard to trust cordless ecosystems like this that don't have a track record of consistency over long periods. Porter cable (Lowes) did the same thing to me with their power tool lineup a while back. If you're looking for a portable tool kit ecosystem to enter for stuff like this as well go with Ryobi, it's a no brainer.

I got that 60V system all those years ago around that 75% off price. Most of my batteries are still working. I recently picked up some 60V Greenworks mowers and the brushless technology and newer batteries make it my go to lawnmower.

I'm happy with the ~$125 or so I paid for a 7.5AH 60V self propelled metal deck lawnmower that has lasted this long. I have around (4) 2.5AH 60V Craftsman batteries and 1 did fail.

Depends on the terrain, not the size. You could set the height high and buzz the tops and it would be fine, or set it low and try to mulch and the batteries would die quick.

Not bad if you have a smaller, flat yard and don't need something crazy.
