I don't like the 2 filters being combined. Own a waterdrop G2 and one filter gets changed yearly (much cheaper) and the other is about every other year. My G2 has a design issue too- the lack of a pressurized tank to maintain high pressure on the R/O membrane leads to the first bit of water run sometimes being far less pure. Not a big deal for me because I use the first gallon on my plants then fill large jugs that dispense the purified water faster anyways. I think this might make the instant hot water feature on this model kind of marginally useful if the water is not as pure as it can be.
Not sure where you're getting this from. Regular price is $119.99 on Amazon and the Waterdrop website.
That said: I like this company (we have the X8 and it's fantastic), and hot RO water on demand seems like a nice feature, but I would be skeptical of any RO system that has a single replaceable filter.

G3 is the sweet spot. This one filter is good for convenience. But yes separate filters should mean it last longer and thus more cost efficient.

get a real reverse osmosis unit (5 stage of filtering) buy Watts Premier, not a 1 filter option.
