Never had a problem getting them $500 at a time on different credit cards each time, separate transactions. Been doing it for years on Thanksgiving sale
You add the deal, then enter your phone number at checkout in store at the payment kiosk and the coupon will apply.
Right under the title on the DG website it says "Not sold at store" in big red bold text.

This deal is for buying cards in store only, where you can find all sorts of denominations to buy. Create a DG account if you don't have one, load the coupon to your account, enter the account phone number when checking out in store and get the discount. Limit one per account, but you can create an account for any email/phone number combo you have access to, so can get multiples that way.
