Not trying to argue too hard as you are right about the price and maybe you should be able to expect more (or at least the case to cost less), but i think the waterproofing is more so you do not need to be scared to get in the water/get it wet and limited water use if you want. Also, the phone does not give you 360 recording that can easily be reframed. I would hate to have that great white take off your leg and you didn't even capture it on video lol

This bundle was previously $550, right? It doesn't say the original price in the mobile app.Edit: yup it was previously in my cart, showing $550. So $30 savings at $520.

Yeah, last front page deal was $550, and this is the new lowest price point for this bundle.

Just bought the X5 during the last X4 FP listing a couple weeks back. Will Costco PM?

I bought one of these during the last sale and returned it. It's such a cool concept but once you're using 360 recording mode the resolution and clarity drops drastically. We wanted it for snorkeling but when in 360 mode, the videos just weren't something I'd be happy to show others. Very fuzzy. My pixel phone in a waterproof case recorded much better video and photos. Above water it was usable. When using with only one camera, not 360 mode, the videos looked great. I played with all the settings but ultimately it wasn't a good fit for us. Buying from Costco for this reason was great.

Just bought this from Costco like 2 days ago. Will Costco do a price adjustment or do I need to return/rebuy?

You are supposed to use the submersible case in order to get the quality you desire. Using the camera by itself does not perform well under water.

Interesting. For a underwater device that costs $500 and is waterproof to 30m, I don't think I should need another $100 device to have usable videos underwater. That may work for some but a phone with a $10 case yielded better results. It's simply my experience and just sharing that so others can learn and hopefully buy the underwater case to get the results they are seeking.

How's the software side of things? I really want a 360 cam but GoPro max left a bad taste in my mouth. DJI is supposed to be coming out with a 360 cam soon but again, software ease will be the decider.

Software is quite good and easy to use.

The device is waterproof. It will work perfectly underwater in the forward facing mode (I want to say a 120 degree field of view). However the 360 mode works by stitching together the views from multiple cameras. This doesn't work perfectly underwater due to the difference in light reflection. The underwater case allows for these views to work properly and for the full 360 to work underwater.

I don't have the underwater case but have used mine plenty of times underwater (just sticking to the forward view).

Costco will adjust the price if it was purchased at Costco within the last 30 days.

You have to use the diving case to get clear videos underwater, that's why your pixel took clear videos. It's the way the water distorts the lens so you need the case to fix the distortion.
