Fourth of July is upon us. The following grocery stores have ribs on sale.

Southern California
Smart and Final [smartandfinal.com]: Pork Spare Ribs for $1.98 / lb with digital coupon [smartandfinal.com], limit 2 bags
valid July 2 - 8, 2025

Vons [vons.com] and Albertsons [albertsons.com]: Baby Back Ribs for $2.99 / lb with Just4U digital coupon [albertsons.com]
valid July 2 - 4, 2025 - 3 days only

Other States - YMMV - I spot-checked a few. The prices vary across the country.
Kroger [kroger.com]: Pork Back Ribs for $1.77 - $2.99 / lb with digital coupon [kroger.com]
valid July 2 - 8, 2025

Safeway [safeway.com] and / or Albertsons [albertsons.com][/B]: Pork Loin Baby Back Ribs or St Lous Ribs for $2.47 - $2.99 / lb, must be a Safeway 4 U [safeway.com] member
valid July 2 - 8, 2025

Change the store location to your location. Store membership required. Must clip digital coupon (in most cases).

Some stores not listed have Baby Back or St. Louis Style Ribs for $3.99 / lb., but I like to see them at $2.99 or better to be considered a good deal. St. Louis Style ribs are usually thicker and meatier with a straight bone. Baby Back ribs usually have a curved bone. Spare Ribs include the whole slab - St. Louis Style rack along with the "rib tip" cartilage area and are usually cheaper.

Ribs good. Need more rib deals.

That said, $2.99/lb kind of sucks. Aldi [aldi.us] is selling "spare ribs" for $1.99/lb July 2-6. I assume that means St. Louis.

Spares are the whole rack. St Louis plus the rib tips. They should go for about $1.49/lb on a good sale around here because the rib tips are kinda worthless. A lot of messing around with fat and gristle for a small amount of meat. We only buy baby backs or St. Louis.

Good to know! Thanks for saving me a trip to Aldi.

I know how to cook them... I have run a smoker for over a decade. I have 2 and can cook for over 100 people. Just a lot of work for not a lot of meat. I will pay .50 more per pound to have them trimmed. We normally do baby backs so that point is moot...
