When Baseus had a recall several years ago, Anker and INIU products were not affected. These issues tend to affect manufactured lots or specific battery cell subassemblies. They dont affect every cell made for every consumer products company that sells batteries.

This Reddit article provided a lot of info on the situation. Further, it seems that Anker, Baseus, Ugreen, Romoss, Xiaomi, or Aukey are Amprius customers that were identified as using the faulty cells (and have resulting product recalls). However, China did ban all power banks that do not have the CCC certification from flights. This includes all power banks made before the certification was available in 2023. (This extends to power banks in 2024 that did not yet have the certification.)

I could not find any info that INIU uses Amprius batteries. It is plausible. Yet your post states conclusively that INIU has had problems and that they use Amprius cells. Thats spreading misinformation under the guise of being helpful. A better statement would be "maybe hold off on buying batteries right now. There is a massive recall going on related to a supplier of Anker and many other companies." That would be accurate.

I've bought a few from this brand over the last few months. So far so good, quality is pretty up there. Thanks OP!

I got their 5000mah mini portable type c charger last month , it's definitely not a fast charger and will charge my phone from 1% to 60-70%. last time it got stuck in 85% for quite a while when I was charging the power bank but I'm thinking it stopped charging because it got hot (I'm guessing for safety?) so I just use a type c to USB cable and it charges with no interruptions, it just get warm instead of hot. Idk if I got a bad one or they're all like that, but don't expect it to charge your phone to 100%… other than that can't really criticize it too much since this thing usually sells for $14-15 (got mine for 11 tax included)

I'll update back when I get mine to see if I have the same experience. This will be my first time trying this brand's 5000mah mini portable. I guess I'll try to charge it with a cable that came with another INIU device I bought. Good luck on that one so far. Thanks for the heads up!

The last 20 percent is harder to charge. Imagine blowing up a balloon. The first 80% is easy to expand, but if you want to go to the maximum size, the last 20% takes more lung power.

The last 20% can take as much effort as the first 80%.

I have their 27000mah 140W fast charger power bank for more than a year and no issues whatsoever, this one does charge fast as advertised input/output. I also own their power charging cables and been good so far haven't had any fail on me yet, reason why I bought the mini power bank because of the good experience with the company. Like I said I'm not going to really judge it that much because of price it's an okay item, I did see Anker has one that looks exactly like this one but twice the price.

I bought the Anker 5000 mah one and the tip broke off recently. 5000 is definitely not enough for the iPhone pro max.

Yes and no it all depends on the device input charging speeds, my 27,000mah can charge from 0%-100% in 1.5hours. It's convenient to have the fast charging features when in a hurry but for regular use I try not to charge it like that, as it's known that fast charging (heat) kills your batteries.. that's why I'm using type c to usb on that mini power bank cuz it does get hot when I charge it type c to type c

I believe this is from China. They recently have issues on these power banks since they all use the battery by Amprius. There's a potential it will explode while too hot. Most of them have been banned by the CFAA. So just give heads up to those who never heard about this. This might be a good deal but might not be a good product.

Wouldn't all of these companies' powerbanks be effected?

Well, I bought one. And it has been working as it should. On the manual, I found a 3-year warranty. Contacting their customer service for a try?
