I agree with leaving marks, very hard to clean on leather
What do you recommend that doesn't do that

I love Banana Boat Light As Air! It has a light, pleasant scent, and is non greasy. For folks who have body hair, it doesn't mat down your hair into a grease slick. The non greasy nature of it leaves body hair looking near normal. It's been very effective for me and doesn't leave me with an itchy rash! I highly recommend!
It's a chemical sunscreen, which I like because it leaves no white cast. A lot of the mineral sunscreens leave me greasy and have a strong white cast. I used to try for mineral sunscreens, but after trying Light As Air, I prefer it.

Anytime you put something on the skin, it can be absorbed. Mineral sunscreens have a lot of chemicals in them too. In fact, minerals, such as zinc and titanium, in inorganic sunscreens are coated in synthetic chemicals so that they spread more evenly across the skin. Without it, they become clumpy, leaving "holes" of protection in your sunscreen. That's why homemade sunscreens, such as adding zinc to petrolatum to make lip balm with SPF, are ineffective.
According to the FDA:
"...the fact that an ingredient is absorbed through the skin and into the body does not mean that the ingredient is unsafe, nor does the FDA seeking further information indicate such."
