If you're gaming at 1080p, especially in esports titles, this is genuinely a good deal. If you're playing AAA single player titles or game at a high resolution, you should save for the 16GB version.

thanks got it for $249.74 after tax and the $15 GC deal minus $60 promo gc. one thing to note is that the $60 promo gc expires in a year... something to consider.

As for why someone would buy a 8GB in 2025 it's cause some of us do not game at all anymore! I just need it to run several 4k monitors.

Ordinarily I would advise against the 8GB version of this GPU. However, if playing max settings on all the latest and greatest games isn't your thing, this is most definitely worth considering for $240. Assuming you have a use for that gift card.

Not bad at all for esports when stacked w/ gift card deal, I guess. Still, 8gb cards are criminal in 2025.

If you're playing esports at 1080p, you can play at high/ultra settings using a 1660 Super for $100 or less.

Not on newer games...this has been tested forgot who (Maybe Hardware Unboxed youtuber)...
Newer games are starting to go beyond 8gb at 1080p high/ultra.

I believe they also tested Indiana Jones with rtx 5070 12gb at maxed settings and couldn't run due to ram limitation...
I think that was 1440p but 12gb wasn't enough maxed at that res.

Looking to upgrade from an old 8gb so I've been watching so many youtube comparing the gpu with others...

He's specifically referring to the earlier comment for esports titles; Indiana Jones is a AAA single player game. You are correct though about Hardware Unboxed...

Why is Newegg selling this for a base price of $360. The 16GB version sells for less than that elsewhere! If this had a base price of $300, with the $60 gift card plus the $100 gift card deal, then I'd pick one up, but otherwise hard pass!

I can't agree with your assessment of the situation, and here is why... In a couple of years, this probably won't be good enough to play esports anymore either, and at that point, this card will be completely worthless at resale while the 16GB version will hold most of it's value!

I'd say if you are looking for something for esports, maybe get a used 2060 for around $140 - that gets you access to better than FSR4 upscaling (DLSS4 Transformer model) minus frame gen (which you wouldn't be using for esports anyway). This way, you won't lose nearly as much money upon resale.
