i miss the days of getting paid to get a sams club membership, but then i guess that explains why i haven't been a member for 4+ years Frown

sams club scan n go checkout is definitely way ahead of costco but i still generally tend to prefer costco product quality although for 50%+ of things they are basically the same. wonder how the $5 chickens compare nowadays, costco's has gone down hill.

Anyone having luck on using the [email protected] trick to get another Sams club membership instead of renewing your current membership?

Is it true all Sams nationwide are or have gotten rid of checkout lanes? Cashless? Scan and go only?

Ya, I am the same boat. I don't even have a Sam's near me. I use to get this so when I take a trip there and hit the store for gas and variety of things Costco doesn't have.

ONE thing that I still can't find elsewhere is the beef short ribs that they have. It was the best, cheapest ribs that I can ever find. But price has gone up since and I don't go by there often anymore to justify their membership.

Not at ours. Still has checkout, self-checkout and scan-n-go.

100% prefer Sam's Club over Costco (we have both). Costco gives me PTSD. Traffic at ours is worse than an LA freeway at rush hour. Unless you get there when they open, the search for parking is a big time waster. The self-checkout line usually goes to the back of the store.

Sam's Club is the opposite. With Plus membership they have early hours to get there and shop before the general public. Parking is rarely an issue. Scan-n-go is the best thing for shopping EVER (except when I need to buy booze, then I have to wait in the cattle line to checkout and pay). But overall, I find Sam's Club just as good as Costco (which, to be honest, has become a Sky Mall warehouse of expensive, niche products for the rich with most name-brand items you love being replaced by Kirkland).

Ends up paying for itself if you utilize the gift card deals they do. Also the gas discount.

Example: currently an IHOP $50 GC goes for $38, Dominos $100 GC for $75, or Coldstone Creamery $30 GC goes for $20.

My membership ended a week ago. Went into the app & deleted my account, said it could take 24 hours for deletion.

After that wait period I just signed up with the link (since it has a code attached). Used same email, cc, & number for signup.

It asked me if I was a previous member, I just said no & it continue to sign up just fine. Was only charged $20+tax & picked up my physical membership card yesterday with no issues.

Not as good as when they were all but paying us to signup new from Groupon or elsewhere (ie. free chicken, free pizza, discount on first order, etc, etc.), but not too bad either. Though $20 is pretty much a regular sales price for new membership and pops up once every month or two, so not exactly a hot deal.
