Wholey Moley! $220 Sunglasses? Let's Break That Down. We've all been there — you walk into a store or scroll through a site, see a sleek pair of sunglasses, and your jaw drops at the price tag: $220 retail. But wait… didn't an episode of "How It's Made" reveal these only cost about $1.50 to manufacture?Let's be generous and say these are polarized, maybe have some UV protection, and come with a microfiber pouch. Round up the manufacturing cost to $3.00 per pair.So why the 7,250% markup from $3 to $220?Even if they're on sale — let's say down to $33 — that's still a 1,000% increase over production cost. And that's not including the usual bulk shipping discounts and factory deals most brands get.Is That Fair?

No but $33 is doable for me and you don't need insurance benefits to get them.

Fairness is not a free market economic principle. Would you prefer the government to control prices of private businesses? Or would you rather just find the product you like at the price you like? There's nothing close to any kind of monopoly here so let them charge what they want. You as the consumer get plenty of choices.

Do you really think manufacturing cost is the only cost for this company? Tell me you don't understand basic economics without telling you that you don't understand basic economics.
