This looks more like brown than gold. If you're going to get gold silk filament. Get gold silk filament. Elegoo silk gold is excellent and actually looks like (fake) gold when printed. It was clutch printing Mario coins for a video game themed kids birthday party.

Have gold filament coming out my ears already and definitely don't need more, but ordered a couple anyway along with a couple of the blue silk at the same price. Not the best price on PLA by a long shot, but at least easy to return if I don't like it, unlike (for example) AliExpress.

Decent price for silk. It is typically $15 and up.

Even if you do 10 rolls+ it's still a bit more expensive. Sunlu is doing a sale right now for mostly 11.99 for most colors. no min required.

I just got my first printer, a P1S. Got some Elegoo PLA filament for it, but I've never done this before and am lost on all the options. Is this worth picking up? I don't mind spending more but also don't want to spend a ton if there's not a big difference. I'm also not sure I want to spend a ton of time recalibrating for filaments but I don't know which one to stick with until I try them 😂

This is a good deal on single color silk. I say get. If you want budget PLA, Kingroon 10 pack on Aliexpress is usually the way to go. Prints well and comes out to about $8 per roll.

I've had great luck with Geeetech on Aliexpress as well. I don't know that they have any bulk deals, but the rolls of filament that they sell individually have been great so far, and are only maybe ~$6-$8 depending on the color and type. Besides just basic PLA they have a few cool dual color or rainbow silk ones as well as PETG filament. Shipping takes forever though.

Yeah I was afraid of shipping time from Aliexpress at first too, but I think the Kingroon are in a warehouse local to me because they arrive in 1 or 2 days. Usually fast shipping and free for those. There is a SD post on that deal from earlier this month.

Yeah but the finish and color is terrible. Why waste your time and money?

Yeah, they are in a US warehouse. I bought like 60 lbs of the stuff and it showed up in about a week.

Mine have come out fine. Ive gone through about 8 entire rolls so far without any issues. I've had more issues with Elegoo basic than with Kingroon.
