MJ was bought out in 2022, I'm sure we'll see a decline in quality now, similar to what Luxottica has done to Oakley, RayBan, etc
I just ordered one let see if I see the same pattern. Let me know if you return them.
They were bought by Kering, not Luxxotica.
While there is certainly still potential for impact to quality, I don't think we've seen any decline (at least not yet). Kering claims to want to preserve the same quality, but we'll see long term.
IMO maui jim are high quality and have some of the best lenses in the game. The glass lenses especially have exceptional clarity, though can feel a bit heavy if that bothers you. I like the maui rose colored ones the best.
Frame quality is generally good too, but can vary more by model. The thin ones are obviously going to be more fragile.
These prices are good, but not great. As someone else mentioned Costco sometimes beats this - but usually selection is limited to just a few models. So if there's a specific one you want, could be worth it to pull the trigger here.
