This is a common sale - check the camel. I did buy these a couple of months ago. One won't solar charge, and the other randomly decides it's going to trigger for motion when there's no motion, creates hundreds of video clips of nothing and runs the battery dead in a few hours. When time permits, I'll be testing their warranty process. 2 for 2 with duds for these for me.

Do you want to pay subscription or not is probably what influences most

Bought this one a while ago go for the same price. Overall, I like the camera, solar charging tops it off so it never goes below 92% (placement can affect this). One issue is have noticed with this and other Eufy cameras is the delay in notification of movement or it missing people completely. Seem to have to overlap cameras (have multiples) to really track/see people.

I bought 2 of these like 3 years ago but 1 crapped out after a year. Is there a more reliable camera system that's not subscription based, has solar, and costs the same as these eufys/ankers?

Installed 4 cameras + base unit 6 months ago bc the website said it would connect to Apple Home. There is still no Apple Home connectivity 👎🏽👎🏽👎🏽

Does this have non-subscription AI object detection?

Does it have "person detection" without the subscription?

I have it hooked up to a homebase. To it recognizes specific people and say their name of i mark them. I am not positive but I think it still said person detected (could not combine similar people or add name) without the homebass

For the price, you might want to consider Eufy—but I've had Ring all around my home for the past four years and it's been solid. The protection plan costs about $200 per year now, and it's absolutely worth it. They always respond right away whenever the alarm goes off—one time we were out and didn't answer their call, and they still sent the cops when the carbon monoxide alarm was triggered. That kind of peace of mind, plus free replacements for any faulty devices as long as you're on the plan, makes it a great value for under $20 a month.

Also, many home insurance companies will give you a credit—often $100 to $200—if you have professional monitoring like Ring's protection plan, which helps offset the cost even more.

The whole Ring ecosystem also works really well with Alexa, which makes things even more seamless.

Costco usually has great deals for new buyers. I'd recommend Ring without any hesitation.

I have eufy cameras. Total crap. When switching between color and b&w always trigger motion alert. Wait, this is not all! At times, this switch triggers a sound alert. Un-effing believable. If it wouldn't be for AI human detection, the "detection" would be totally unusable.

I have both. Ring is better than Eufy although Eufy does not have a subscription. If I had to get rid of one, I keep the Ring.
