Nintendo of America Will Not Cover an "International Model"

Even if you're buying it from a U.S. seller like Woot, if the box or listing says "International Model", that usually means:

It was originally manufactured for a different region (e.g., Europe, Asia, Middle East).

It does not carry a U.S. warranty through NoA, who will not repair or service it, even if you pay out-of-pocket.
Good to point this out so people are aware. I also seem to remember reading something to the effect that if it's a Japanese model it may not be able to take full advantage of the entire 5 ghz WiFi band here in the US due to differences in regulations between the countries and it being designed for those in Japan.
Pretty sure most can afford it, it's just that switch 2 don't really offer much of a difference compared to OG switch to spend 450-500. Most will argue but it's the sad truth, Nintendo are getting greedy and hopefully they go back to how they used to be. For example even if you have a physical game you won't really own it as it will contain a digital key code to download for you to play it.

Edit: I think I can input my opinion since I currently own all consoles switch, Xbox s and x, and ps5. All previous consoles have been good upgrades and worth the price (except switch and ps5 pro) Don't know why I'm getting downvoted, for stating facts? I guess some people hate hearing the truth and trying to justify their purchase.

I particularly like the "…and can play all Switch 1 games" part. Lol. I kind of thought that went without saying.

Unless you live walking distance from Nintendo, you'll be spending around $20 each way to ship the thing.

Who knows what the minimum repair cost is for these devices? $100? $200? You'll be better off buying a new one.

Some games are "Digital Key Cards" like you mentioned that don't contain the game and need to be downloaded. This type of game is clearly labeled on the box and does not apply to all of them; others like Mario Kart and Cyberpunk are entirely on the game card. It just comes down to how much the publisher is willing to spend on having their game physically on store shelves.
It sucks but at least it can be borrowed or resold, unlike a digital purchase.

Most people can afford it?

I hate Nintendo nerds.

How low retailers would go is anyone's guess, I'd imagine these will stay around this price point as long as the switch 2 is at low availability. I think this is a great price for a brand new oled, considering used ones for ~$200

This so much. If you bought a Switch 2, that's completely fine. But the reality is there really isn't much reason to do so right now

Get a Windows handheld PC or a Steam Deck and emulate the entire library of Nintendo games. Don't give another dime to that Super Greedy Corporation.
