I have the 360hz version I got for $500 from bestbuy a couple weeks ago. Sounds like you were using a DP 1.4 cable instead of the HDMI 2.1 cable. No issues here whatsoever on the G60SD

i think there was only gsync on dp, needed that.

also, some cosmetic issues, very ugly bezels, cheap plastic joystick that will probably break, poor reflection handling in lit rooms, very obvious and forced-on pixel shift. no built in speaker, and unusually large and unnecessary rated (140w) power supply

also, these are binned down versions of the 360 model, in all areas but mostly panel quality. standards are lower across the board, not just for refresh rate.

G-sync works with either cable. You have to enable adaptive sync on the monitor to enable g-sync

DP 1.4 natively supports 2560x1440 at 240hz. That doesn't even require display steam compression.

HDMI 2.1 has 41.9 Gbps of actual usable bandwidth, while DP 1.4 has 25.9 Gbps. Gonna put yourself over the data limit with 1440p 240hz 10 bit and gsync enabled. There's no reason to use DP 1.4 over HDMI at these high data rates. Go for a DP 2.1 display if your GPU supports it. Less video compression is always better even though they consider DSC "lossless"

You're right. Looks like the chart on the page I linked is assuming 8 bit color. If you calculate the bandwidth with 10 bit color, displayport 1.4 does need to use DSC, whereas HDMI 2.1 doesn't need to use compression.
