Hck yeah! I just got this set but was trying to do the hack and looks like they are expecting my drill set back so I'm going to do this one and keep the ratchet set for $30 cheaper. Will be here tomorrow. Thanks!

That isn't a hack. It's theft.

Anyone else having issues actually adding it to cart? Ship to store & delivery are giving me unresponsive page errors. Tried signed in/out, private browser etc. Maybe getting flooded.

The people that run Home Depot are not ignorant to people doing this. It's been like this for I don't even know how many years now. If they felt like they were getting screwed, they would've plugged the hole by now. Personally, I think it's an engagement thing. If people are getting a rush out of buying your products because you made it appear as a "hack" you're gonna have people constantly checking your sites for updates so I can buy more of your products. Seems like reverse psychology to me. Certainly falling short of "theft".

How exactly is that theft? You get a receipt showing what the return value is of each item that you purchase. How is returning an item considered theft?

Went to pick mine up yesterday and the box and product box were smashed to hell. Returned it and had them order me another. 🙃

Is the 3/8 ratchet and the impact good for general car DIY maintenance and repair work for Toyota and Honda, where most of the nuts and bolts are metric 10-14mm, 17mm, 19mm, etc? About the only large work might be strut replacement. I use a 1/2 air impact when I need to remove stubborn nuts/bolts and lug nuts but that's about it.

You get the individual items at the discounted price because you buy the entire package. Go try to buy one of the individual tools at that lower price and see what they tell you.

The people that run police stations know that people are going to break the law. Does that make it okay? The people that run Walmart know there are shoplifters. Does that make it okay? Actually, they increase prices on everything (so does Home Depot) to recoup their losses.

Big difference. This isnt against the law.

Most other stores don't break it down like this, but HD does. I dunno why they do it this if they aren't allowing for the return of one of the items. I never really mess with the "hacks" myself, but seems like they are consciously accommodating it and it's not against their policy, so I can't see any moral issue. There certainly isn't a legal issue
