I used Windows media creation tool. It helps you create a USB that has Windows install files on it. All you have to do is plug in and boot from that USB (enter bios by pressing delete while cpu is booting up).

https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/s.../windows11

Before doing the install I highly suggest you find your Windows 11 key just in case you need it. Mine didn't ask for it but you never know if you'll need it for activation. I used #3 the Registry file method.

I got one of these, it took a 16gb sodimm fine, but was a no-go on an nvme drive.

It'd see it in the bios, but wouldn't install bootable windows. Every time the setup process restarted, it'd go to 'windows didn't start correctly'.

Wiped the drive, fresh partitions, more than once and that was as far as it got. Kamrui recommended a skeevy bios update that was to address nvme drives not working with the device. Downloaded from a google drive, and the two apps on it looked like 1990's dos box apps. The one to retrieve and restore the product key didn't work at all. The bios updater did but didn't report old/new versions. Same behavior after that.

The included m.2 drive is sata, and it's slower than EMMC that I've used. Slower than a lot of hard drives. So whatever ya do, don't pay them big bucks for 1tb or 2tb of bog slow sata storage.

I've seen a lot of this lately, Really old stuff getting pulled out of US warehouses and sold with a few updated parts to make it seem new. I'd have thought that we'd be all out of sata/m.2 motherboards and drives by now.

The support is terrific too. Blocked my three star review on amazon and tried to make me delete it before they'd do a return, but amazon did the return anyway. Kamrui also is the same as acemagic and a handful of others that all seem to sell the same sorts of minipcs. Minisforum and to a lesser extent Beelink seem to be somewhat legit. Not these other guys.

Edit: These #$#$ers are still emailing me, offering me $ to delete the review. I'd blocked them from sending me stuff on amazon messaging, so they dug up my email address. Unreal. "we'll put some crap parts in it and then spend hours and dollars trying to stop people from saying what it can and can't do."

For Newbies doing fresh Windows install (like me). I chose to do Rufus https://rufus.ie/en/[/url] ] rather than Microsoft installer per suggestions here. You get 4 choices at Rufus. I picked portable per Reddit suggestions. You download it to your regular computer then open it. It creates a boot file (took about 5 minutes) that after you direct it to save to your flash drive. Take that flash drive and stick it in the Kamrui when its off. . When started the Kamrui, I tapped the 'delete' key every second until it automatically goes into Bios. Use the arrow keys to move top tabs to boot. Then down to boot from flash drive. .
Everything worked except it couldn't find any 'Network Adaptors" so no Wifi. I continued with "no internet" option until complete. I went to my old computer and got the wifi drivers here: https://download.lenovo.com/pccbb...wrw06w.exe . Put it on a flash drive and plugged it into the Kamrui. I installed it straight from the flash drive and it immediately worked. Hope this helps. Good luck!

Obligatory no, it can not modern game. Just buy an XBOX/PlayStation. But solid deal on a home theater PC that can do retro gaming. Consider investing in a gyro remote if you go down that path.
Yes, it can run Microsoft Office and send e-mail. But if you're reading this, you probably already have a device that can do that.

Just got one of these last week. Replaced a over 10 year old laptop, love how small it is. From all the reviews I've been reading on these I went ahead and just did a clean install of Windows on it just to be safe.

So does N100, but there are multiple reports on people using 32GB sticks in it and working fine.

This uses ddr4. The N series is a single channel memory design. So the DDR5 versions perform better.

I got a similar mini pc on amazon (not this brand) and it came with secure boot disabled. May want to check the other security settings too, just in case.

Interesting. I thought the memory limitations posted by Intel/AMD were generally accurate. Intel does claim that both the N100 and N150 can only use 16GB RAM.

Yet as you say, many people have been able to run 32GB and even 48GB of RAM on these CPUs.

https://www.intel.com/content/www...tions.html

I wonder if the memory limits on higher end Intel and AMD CPUs are real or not; maybe it's just that they haven't bothered to test and certify their CPUs with more RAM.

Single 32GB stick for $50.

48GB DDR4 does not exist.

I was just going to ask this? How do these do with plex? Would love to shut down my larger server to save energy and just use this for local streaming only.

I mean this is fine as is at this cost, but adding 32GB or 48GB RAM thinking you have the next alternative to quantum computers may be a bit too optimistic. Anything beyond 16GB is going to show marginal (if any) improvement in performance given this N150 and this platform. This is fine for what it is- stop playing pimp my ride with it.
