Two 45 steel plates for less than $1 per pound seems decent. I like the look of the cutout but not sure if it would affect balance somehow, but should be easier to handle.

One of the good things about weights is, you can always sell them for a decent price on the secondary market after you're done with 'em .
Not a bad price though.

I have a pair of these. If you are using them for straight up/down routines (bench, squat, etc), or on a machine that has a straight line motion like a leg press, it's fine.
