How does this compare to the one for $26 a few days ago?

https://dealquestnow.online/share/android_app/fp/1105882

I am waiting for the new version to hit the $20's but it keeps staying around $39.99

This one has AC power on the back, 3 outlets. different use case than the one you posted i.e. if you need to plug other things in

This one also has faster USB C single port charging, at 65 watts or 45 watts. The other one only has 30watts max.

What is the purpose of USB A outlets? Charging cables are C to A anyway.

i dont see my much point in this with only what 4 charging ports. in addition these types tend to be very light, unstable and flop around from pressure of the plugged in usb cables (while i dont have experience with this specific one, perhaps it's weighted or something), annoying

i got a mega charger off, no name chinese brand (the best quality typically) amazon for 38 that is a platform that wont move, has oversized slots to hold several tablets, phones and game devices. and also comes with about ten short (like, 6" short) usb cables of every type (a to c, c to c, micro usb, even lightning) which is awesome. too be fair it's a somewhat different class of device though.

this one does have regular 120v power outlets though, which at first glance justifies it, but after a minute, what would you actually use that for? other than some sort of expensive power cord extender, i'm not sure.

seems like a waste to use 10% off on such a cheap item but I'm not sure what else I would use it on...

Edit: Eh, POS coupon code isn't working anymore anyway. "Ran out" right as I was checking out. I've also been burned too many times by Anker power strips failing on me so I guess it saved me $30. I just wish more reputable companies put out strips like this.

Besides the wattage on the second item, any other reasons why this is better?

got one of these work my work desk. This prevents for me having to get down behind my desk for a plug or search for a power brick for my phone or laptop whenever I find myself needing to change it away from my nightstand. A lot more compact than a power strip, looks better on the desk too. Guess it just depends on your needs.

Anyone knows what the rating for the cable is? I can't imagine running a couple of 50-100W items with the AC outlets and the 100W charging shouldn't be supported for a total of ~300-400W but want to make sure.

That's the reason. 65 watts total is way too limiting in 2025, in my opinion.
