If it were me, I'm getting the OLED and window treatments to deal with the direct light and have the better panel... but that's just me.

QLED is nothing like OLED. Better do some Googling.
The QM8 is brighter w/ more dimming zones, but TBH I dunno if that's worth the current $400 difference (if you just want a huge tv on a budget)
As long as you don't settle for a 6-series, I think you'll be perfectly fine

I used to have a Harmony Remote setup + receiver, but moved away from that in favor it the default remote + higher-end soundbar + basic eARC functionality...and haven't noticed any difference between manufacturers/OS'/etc. functionality-wise (aside from "how does it handle eARC?"
Are these TCLs different than (say) LG or Hisense sets in the same range?
