Per the spec sheet, the screen is actually 300 nits which makes this a really good deal for my niece's graduation present. If you are handy, you can buy another 8GB ram stick and install it yourself for $15.

Do you know if the first stick is soldered?

3050 laptops have been as low as $450 on sale including this exact laptop about 1.5 months ago, and a Lenovo just a couple of weeks ago. That was for brand new not counting open boxes which have been lower.

This is very entry level gaming, so unless you are in a crunch I would keep on waiting. I personally would no longer pay over $500 for a 3050 laptop.

Decent price! Looks like it's upgradable and has a backlit keyboard. It's only 1080p, but honestly I hate 4K on laptops...battery drain and things tend to be too tiny.

The spec sheet says it has "2 accessible memory slots", so it sounds like it is not soldered.

This "exact laptop" has never been $450, ever. Not 1.5 months ago, nor a year ago. A simple SD search can prove that. The lowest it was before was $550, making the current price the lowest for this model. There were 4050 laptops around this price, but only during BF and have never recurred, except for maybe at MC stores here and there.
The one you are referring to was with the 12th-gen i5, 4GB 3050, 250-nits display, which is vastly different from the deal mentioned here. Misguiding people with half-baked information is not appreciated.

Yep my mistake it was the one with the previous version I5, but in reality they are pretty identical as the newer I5 means really nothing in perceivable performance difference. I would still not pay over $500 for this unless I was in a time crunch and needed something now. As you mentioned there were 4050s during the holidays for this price. Also as you know since the newer CPU really does not add much compared to the previous gen why pay the extra money.

You need to update the original post. I'm pretty sure this laptop is 300 nits, not 250.

With best buy open box condition lottery, I think $509 guaranteed new is worth it over $463 unless you see it in person first or don't mind returning.
