I literally just bought Kirby and the Forgotten land on eBay for 30 to get ready for the Switch 2 upgrade otherwise I'd be on this. Good deal for these games!

Likely UAE copies. Will work fine to play, but if you plan to resell your games to retailers like GameStop, it's likely to be rejected.

My 10yo wants Kirby & Forgotten Land for Switch2. Any obvious reason to wait for that to release (late Aug I believe) or is the Switch1+$20 upgrade the exact same thing?

Because Nintendo?

This is what they have done ever since the Switch proved to be such a sales powerhouse; with no reason to lower prices, they never did. These same games have dipped down to these prices multiple times over the years, but rarely to never lower.

Remember when they had the Nintendo Selects line? Good times.

Better to buy NSO with expansion pack (family and split with friends/family) than buy individual upgrades.

Which games do you recommend for a 9 year old boy. He like Mario cart so far.

Nintendo first-party games tend to retain value, if you have been around long enough on SD to track the price movement. Agreed, the discount % is not insane, and you are perhaps better off buying second-hand off eBay or locally. However, the "expensive" part is very subjective lol It might be expensive for you, but for me it seems to be priced adequately, for my income. However, I might use that adjective if GT6 will be priced at $100.

As advertised the expansion pack is only going to cover upgrades for Zelda BOTW and TOTK.

Unless something changes, the NSO expansion pack only includes upgrades for the flagship Zelda games (BOTW/TOTK)

The upgrades only last until your membership expires though. Maybe the math works out if you are already wanting to pay for online and can split it with 4-5 people
