I've always been fine with beefy 3rd party ones from Amazon, but for those who want an authentic second charger for their MacBook Pro, this is the best deal you'll see. Still seems incredibly overpriced, and this is what I would hope the MSRP would be, not $100.

I wonder how soon Apple will stop including chargers with Macbooks. Dropping them from iPhones was a huge decrease in legal liabilities and product cost savings.

I'm a Certified Apple Tech and we have seen a couple counterfeit Apple adapters come from Amazon so we tell our customers and organization to only buy directly from Best Buy or through apple itself. This is a very, very low number in the last 10 years, but it has happened.

Thanks for that. If I brought this into an Apple Store would those geniuses be able to spot a fake? Also, can you recommend a corresponding Apple cable for this charger - I'll be using this on an M2 Air that I'm just opening this week. This charger will be for my bag. I hate that it's so big, but I decided I don't wanna go cheap on a charger so that I can keep the battery as good as it can be for years to come. I hope I'm on the right track…

You can verify the serial number under MacOS > System Information > Power > AC charger serial number. This should match what's printed on physical charger.
