There is a guide sleeve that free spins around the shaft. Slide it all the way forward, wipe off any grit, and keep it lubed.
If you only use them for applications where using the guide sleeve is critical which I have been trying to do I suspect they would last years. Yet for the price if i wear them out and the sleeve fails i still consider the kit a great deal and bargain. The compact bit kit case can be valued at $10 by itself and it is very nice. You can almost think of the drivers as bonus or free items.
The good is not the enemy of the perfect. I can wear out any driver and I have and many cost more than the two you get in this kit. I consider them all consumable and none last forever.
