24Gb per stick DIMM, so this is new thing! Price seems good; anyone have any analysis if these are expected timings for PC5 DIMM?

This is pretty good speed and timing. Very good timing (at this speed) would be C28-30, with crap tier being C40.

Back in my day a DDR5 32 gig kit was $500 and we were on a waiting list.

To make an offer you need to buy two or more, so four sticks.

Looks like Spectek a subsidiary of Micron which probably means it's a lower grade version that won't overclock well.

When did this strange 48GB or 96GB ram configuration start? Do they sell 24GB ram nowadays?

Has anyone used the make an offer option from Newegg? I wonder how low they go.

Yeah, I also wonder about 4800. I don't see much on sale.

No, just no.
4 sticks of unpaired DDR5 ram (bought separately 2 or more sets) will never or VERY rarely work in advertised XMP or EXPO speeds. So you'll be stuck running JEDEC speeds 90% of the time. The only time you know it will work is if it's part of the motherboard QVL list to be able to run 4 sticks together. My Z790 motherboard will only run this set at 2 sticks after checking the QVL and I know for a fact I won't be able to run that 6400 MT/s speed at 4 sticks. I'm not even gonna bother finding a sweet spot myself because overclocking and tuning memory takes too long to find and trust me, it took me a long time to overclock my DDR5 6400 CL 36 to 7000 CL40.
A lot of youtubers even have trouble with 4 sticks like famously Linus with the custom PC they bought and gave away last year in Taiwan that had 4 sticks or even technotice while he's fiddling around with his: https://youtu.be/pmCRg3jvfIk?si=B...QM-hV&t=32 .
So in short, don't buy multiple sets at all, or you end up just paying extra for the advertised speed that the sticks come with. Most especially if you like turning on your EXPO or XMP speeds. You're better off getting a supported $169 96 GB sticks that you can even find on Amazon and I would bet my money that your motherboard would easily have that in the QVL list.

Back in my day . . . a gig kit was something used by a drummer in a band. RAM was measured in Kb and we had to use a Memory Manager and multiple DOS boots depending on which game we were running.

Back in my day, 4mb was cutting edge. PC graphics with Wolfenstein 3D blew my mind, coming from a NES. Then puberty hit and I lost interest in video games, replaced by other pursuits. 🍑

It just coming back. As we came up through Kilo/MBs generation vs we in GBs generations now. Many many 12/24/48/96 configurations. To me its just normal. Also when it makes sense for separation. Many use case to be made from 16/32gb to 48gb vs going to straight to 64gb overkill. So when market conditions are right you see it more as well.

Oh summer child doesnt remember when ddr5 came out. it was so bad you ended up with mobos that were useless for months due to the memory shortages. I have a glorious 12th gen running ddr4 because of that.
