Not the same thing at all. Double wall can mean air between the walls or vacuum between the walls. You definitely want the vacuum if it's offered.

Also, good to know info I just got from Thermoflask customer service:
Me:
Costco sells a 2 pack of 40 oz water bottles that say "double wall insulation". Amazon has a single 40 oz on sale right now that says "vacuum insulated". Is there a difference?
Zoe B. 01:52 PM
Both are correct with our bottles, our products are double-walled and vacuum-insulated. There is no difference between the 2 since they are the same product.
Me:
OK great. Do any of your stainless steel water bottles contain lead?
Zoe B. 01:53 PM
We'd like you to know that your beverage never comes in contact with any lead. Like many other stainless steel bottle manufacturers, our vacuum sealing process requires the extraction of air from an 5mm diameter pinhole at the bottom of the outer steel wall of the container, which we then seal with a small bead of glass and a miniscule amount of lead. That seal is separated from your drink by two additional barriers--a 1/2 inch of vacuum space and the inner stainless-steel wall. Your beverage only ever makes contact with the stainless-steel inner wall.
Me:
That sounds good but I would think Thermoflask would make that more known. Is that listed anywhere on your website. I don't even seen anything stating "lead free".
Zoe B. 01:57 PM
Apologies for the confusion, I'll be sure to send a feedback on this to our Customer Service Lead so they can add this note on the website
Nothing is more important to us than the health and well-being of our customers--that's the very purpose of our brand. And while we're confident that our product is 100% safe, we are actively exploring alternate manufacturing techniques to make the seal.
We're thankful for the question and the opportunity to assure you of the safety of our products and the well-being of our valued customers.
$19.99 must be when they go on sale. They are currently $29.99 at Costco.com so they wouldn't be a full $10 less in store.https://www.costco.com/thermoflas...41467.htmlAlso, good to know info I just got from Thermoflask customer service:Me: Costco sells a 2 pack of 40 oz water bottles that say "double wall insulation". "our Customer Service Lead" Nice play on words
Actually, that's not at all an unusual price delta between online and in-warehouse.
