Between $50-60 is pretty much the normal sales price for this router, if you have a home or apartment under 1500 sqft and you have basic needs, streaming, gaming, and web surfing for a handful of devices it will work just fine.

Does this have a broadcom chip? I need a router to run openwrt and all The routers with broadcom chips have locked bootloaders

It does, and they don't have locked boot loaders, but the wifi in Brcm devices is mostly unsupported in Linux.

You can get a Belkin RT1800 open box for $20 less on eBay, it's supported by Openwrt, or a new Linksys E8450 if you add another $10.
