If you don't like the "free" games of the month you can hold off activating Meta+ for 3 months.
Games claimed for "free" through the subscription are only accessible with an active subscription.
$30 credit for those that use a friend link prior to device setup (it's a ban-able offense on SD to post/request such links but check Reddit)
ALL SALES ARE TARGETED meaning they could offer 50% off to one account and no sale for another.
When buying games check for developer links to save a flat 15-20% when no active sale on the game.
You're going to want a better strap and there's 2 or 3 great options for under $100. Some have hot swap batteries. (Globular, BoboVR, Kiwi)
If you have glasses or astigmatism there are snap on prescription lenses for $20 on sites or $50 direct from Meta.
The max credit you can attain per year is $599 (anything $600+ is taxable)
The 4th gen headset is expected 2026/2027
There's free 3rd party software like OcularMigraine that improves visuals at the cost of battery life. There are some paid like Quest Games Optimizer but they may need invasive permissions.
The games with PCVR need the Meta app for PC and many others recommend Virtual Desktop when on sale.
You do not need to link FB/IG to your account can use a normal email account.
If you mess up the $30 link you have 7 days to click a $30 link and factory reset your headset and go through initial setup to get it. Otherwise you need a good bit of personal info from the other person for support to process it. Sometimes there's a promo for $60 credit so check the app.
I'm sure there is info I forgot like there's no crossbuy and if you see it that means it gives you a Meta PC copy you need the app to play.
360 videos through the YouTube app are not true 4K and should be downloaded to view uncompressed.
Rechargeable batteries for the controllers are a must as they take 1 AA each.
Activate 2 factor authentication and set a pin for purchases to minimize accidents. There is a small return window for purchases but YMMV with support.
Those with GeForceNow can use it with the headset but the experience is not amazing yet.
Do NOT expose headset or lenses to direct or reflected sunlight (use a cover)
If you owned a Quest2 and purchase a Quest3 you may still be able to get the $30 activation credit.
Do NOT leave the headset charging for hours unsupervised or with 3rd party plugs/cables
Always read reviews as Most Recent and check online for in dept reviews.
I've accidentally punched my headset during a vr workout and thankfully it was fine but mind your surroundings.
Meta+ is not needed to use the headset.
Only use a dry microfiber cloth to clean your lenses or risk removing the anti glare coating.
Batman game extended through December 2026.
executive membership is currently Pay $130 and get a $50 Costco Shop Card and $100 off a $200+ order (or just get the Gold for $65 with $50 shop card)

Unsure if these promotions can be combined but they may interfere with one another as the Meta Quest is $499 and not $500 for its own promo. Meanwhile, I don't have access to the promo to check if the terms & conditions exclude items such as this Quest 3 or if the $100 off $200 makes the Quest too low for its promo to apply. (Someone with the promo may check to see the price when adding 2 to their cart and see what is deducted)
You also get the new vr batman game

Meta is reportedly not making a profit on the headsets, but hopes it gets future business in the VR/AR headspace
I'm about a week out of the window to do a price adjustment. Damn it.
