This Ryobi model and the Ego that you mentioned both use Li-Ion batteries, and they are just about the best you can get for electric riding lawn mowers at this time.
I have a Ryobi electric zero turn that uses the same batteries. The batteries and cut are great after their first midwestern winter.
If you get a good one keep it indoors or in a shed when not in use, otherwise it will not last very long. Lot of weathering issues over time on these units.
Seems expensive

This mower uses a different battery. It is li-ion and proprietary, like Ego's.

I didn't mention any reviews, nor did I say ryobi is the best lawn mower. Good luck finding consensus on "best lawn mower". What I said is that this lawn mower has li-ion batteries, and those are are best kind of batteries you can find for lawn mowers at this time.
