Is it worth getting this of finding something with a hard cover?

Walmart has one for the same price with hard cover but it says it's 24000btu, this one says it's 34000

I would say a hard cover is a must. Otherwise they rust like crazy

A Hard cover or lid keeps your cover from getting oily, and having moved from the 28" dual burner to the 36" quad the difference in the mass of the griddle itself makes a huge difference in getting a great sear. The 28" is easier to accommodate space wise, but get the 36" if you can. The models with the hinged lid and built in wind shields that Target had for $300 are great, grab one if they go back on sale.

I can confirm the "36" is way better. Woot had a "36" no lid same price. Target had one on sale with a lid for $100 more.

I just got the 36 inch Cabela's (Camp Chef) 4 burner with lid for $249 at Bass Pro. Have to be a member of their club which is bundled with the credit card.

Hotspots only where the burners hit. Corners don't get hot, Amazon has magnet wind guards that help distribute the heat more and makes it burn hotter.

why do they even sell this without a cover? So stupid, its obviously gonna be used and need to stay outside
