I have this and like it. Loading the line takes a little finagling but it works. Pro tip - soak your line in a bucket of water, it will last way longer.

What does this $300 16" trimmer do that the 15" refurbished one at Acme tools for $105 won't?
An extra 4 amp battery.

I have an EGO trimmer from ACME, no rapid feed, about 3 years old. The battery, 2.5, was good and is still good. Feeding the string is a pain, but with the complaints on rapid feed, maybe I should be more grateful. The pain is worse when string stops coming out but is not empty so it needs to be more involved. The thing is very powerful. I would think the 4 battery might get heavy, though the 2.5 battery needs a recharge if I do a LOT of work, after which I also need a recharge. A lot of work usually also means 1 or 2 string refills. Getting an on sale ACME seems like a good idea to me.

I loved the idea of Line IQ but there are a lot of poor reviews on it.
I can attest to this! I've had this model for a few years now and needed it replaced 3 times because it's crap!!! I would NOT recommend this to anyone unless they love taking their string trimmer apart multiple times during their landscaping to try and get it working again. It broke again on me an hour ago... It sucks cause EGO's blower is so good, but this just sucks!!! It makes me weary investing anymore into their overpriced products.

Just as a counterpoint, I've had this trimmer with Powerload and Line IQ for a little over a year and I love it. It works flawlessly for me and I don't have those little circles from bumping the head on the grass. I'm not a heavy user though, so maybe problems will develop. But at this point, I'm very pleased with the product.

Bought last week at same price at Lowe's without the extra free battery. Returning and buying again to take advantage of this deal also offered at Lowe's for the extra battery.

Same situation. I bought this deal and returned the new trimmer on the order from last week. Told them what I was doing and why and they were super cool about it. Walked out with a free battery.

I got this, the 765 blower, and the mower from Lowe's. I bought in the app and returned the bundled 5ah and two 2.5ah batteries. Altogether I spent just under $800 after CA taxes for the three tools and their respective batteries. Not bad at all in my book! Saved about $450 by returning the extra batteries, and I still have the 7.5ah, a 5ah, and a 4ah batteries that came packaged with the tools. I'm excited to be done with gas.

Did you originally purchase in the app or on a web browser?

I'm not sure to be honest. I just went back on the app, went to purchase history, clicked on the order, then selected start a return. After that, I was able to select either the batteries or the mower separately. I selected the battery and then confirmed the return. Then just walked into Lowe's with the barcode ready to go.

stay away had to replace head twice in 2 years. It stops advancing the line. The head is only covered 90 days so if it breaks, and it does, you are beat. $50 each time I replaced mine and it is failing a third time. From what I see online it is a known issue.

Can any tall people comment on the ergonomics of the unit? I imagine the Line IQ and Rapid Reload are the same bodies. The fuel line on my gas Husqvarna unit just disintegrated and I recently bought the Ego mower. That Husqvarna trimmer was too short and I have to hunch a lot to use it.
