General question, but if I get this, can I take the Verizon modem when I go on vacation or something and use the 5G internet somewhere else?

I have Verizon home internet and looked into this for traveling awhile back, and most people that tried it reported that their hardware was geofenced to their home address and it wouldn't work; on the other hand, most people that tried the same thing with T-Mobile home internet were able to use theirs while traveling. Though I believe your contract in any case requires it only be used at the home address or your service can be terminated. I was going to try it out on my last road trip, but I ultimately didn't because I could add using my phone as a mobile hotspot to my plan for $10 and that was more than adequate and didn't risk getting my best option for home internet locally terminated.

Unless you really want a Switch, this seems pretty meh. I'm paying $35/month for FIOS 300/300 and not chained to Verizon wireless.

Yup. I'm $40/mo for 300/300 and it feels like the only true deal in tech I've gotten in years. FIOS is unbelievably good. Rock solid

Does anyone know if i can get the bundle discount if my phone is under a family plan that is billed under another name/household? I suspect both have to be under the same name/address.

Last time i got it when it was xbox deal i used it as my mobile internet in car 700 miles away from home address. Had no problems with it. The only problem is to return a modem after cancelation.

In Northern Virginia, my FIOS 300/300 costs $55. I'm moving soon to a place 35 mile away and have a quote of $50 for 300/300, with a free router.

I currently use my own router -- an Asus RT-AX86U. And have an older router as a mesh node. I see that if I use my router and decline theirs, I get a $0 discount. In the past the Verizon router had an internal antenna, and I got better range with mine. So unless I am going to get TV service with a DVR, should I keep using my own router?

EDIT: I'll add that I use Merlin firmware running a VPN Server and Client, VPN Director, and some port forwarding, And as I mentioned before, a mesh node.

Wow. This is awesome. When I signed up earlier in the year, I had just missed the xbox offer. Best I got was a new controller and xbox head phone. Both meh, but free. I still use the service.

If I don't have a Verizon post-paid phone plan but do enroll in auto pay, is the cost $50/month or is the autopay discount only available if one has a Verizon post-paid plan?

So, this is a 3 year contract to offload Switch? (as it is not even Switch OLED)

nvm, it is price lock for 3 years. It is a 6-month term for getting the bounties. Not bad if you like keep switching the internet provider.

Reading is fundamental but it's a 3 year price lock not 3 year contract. Meaning they won't raise the price for 3 years. You only have to keep service for 180 days.
