And not just currently, it's very often that cheap, though it was "full" price in the last month.

How do these compare to the Sony ult wear 900N that I bought for $64? Are these better?

Your basic entry sennheisser at a decent, low price. Senns rarely sell cheap new.
As for the average audio grade of the 450bt, they've got amazing headphones for $$$. Ie.don't expect any maker to sell you a $$$ Ferrari for the price of a $ Corolla.
At the under $100 range, the majority do not support LDAC for Hi-Res Audio playback of FLAC, DSD, ETC.
Standard SBC/AAC codecs on these cheaper headphones is like FM quality, so folks, don't expect such to sound Amazing. No LDAC, Apple Lossless, etc codecs = it won't matter how much money you spend because SBC/AAC is just FM quality.
These Senns have a WIRED 3.5 mm cable - use that to bypass the Bluetooth codec quality.
Also, for all headphones, use the EQ! You can often tune headphones to subjectively sound better to most ears.
Ie. Grandma might not hear high tones as well, so high frequencies might need to be eq'd higher for her. Or you love BASS, so you might want to add more low frequency EQ.
Besides the Senn app https://www.sennheiser-hearing.co...rtcontrol/
You've got companies with EQs

I bought those too. I get a faint clicking sound when I'm not playing any audio. Do you get the clicking sound?

These seem to be very good? I have an earlier version that are great. The reviews are good. It's hard to find decent version like this that are this cheap.

Clicking sound? No, like how would you describe it? Did you download the connect app? There is a noise cancelling mode an ambient mode and off mode. If you're not playing music and you have noise cancelling on there will be a sound sort of like white noise but faint, and ambient mode will open the noise to hear around you and yourself. You have to download the app because there are software updates for these headphones. But so far I like mine a lot, the sound, features, fit, comfort, and mine looked brand new untouched

My point was that the $180 MSRP is bull.

Gotcha. I'll download the app to see if there's any updates. I hear the clicking when the noise cancelling is turned on. It doesn't do it on my wh1000xm5

This was my impression when I bought them 18 months ago:

Bought it locally today and will return it tomorrow. My old low-end wired Sennheiser headphones sound better. They sound muffled and lifeless. Equalization doesn't help. I had low expectations to begin after seeing the frequency response graphs at Soundguys and Rtings. But they still shocked me with their lack of detail and treble.

Horrible deal, these headphones get outclassed by Sony WH-CH720N or Sony ULT WEAR, which are around the same price used

The quality is really subjective.

With these audio brands, most sound profiles from one brand tend to be similar to their products.

Sony focuses more on bass and "crispiness" with a sound profile that sounds like you're there on the stage with the performers.

Sennheiser focuses more on balance of the sound and distinction/separation, specifically in the mid and high end ranges.

I prefer sonys because their build quality is also usually better with more metal pieces in the hinges, clasps which makes it more resilient in everyday use - theres more metal pieces in the newest XM6 as well. All the sennheisers I've owned have way too much plastic and not the high quality ones as Sonys - that's not to say that their plastic isn't high quality, but just not as high of a quality as Sony's. Also, one really annoying thing is that their clasps are for oval-shaped heads so if you have a more circular or blocky head the headphones are going to be tight and even if you use a box thats the size of your head to "stretch" them out they'll STAY tight even after a year or owning and 3-4 months sitting on a freakin box for 20 hours a day - which is a "good" thing but not if your face shape isn't the right one.

If that doesn't answer your question, then ask yourself what kind of music do you usually listen to?

Classical - Sennheiser
pop music - Sony
